Fireproof

For FHE we went to see this movie called Fireproof http://www.fireproofthemovie.com/. It was about a Fire Fighter who is able to save lives but when it comes to his own family he finds it very difficult. It's a film about HOPE & PURE LOVE. I normally don't promote movies but this one is about strengthening families and it's really good and SQUEAKY CLEAN. So if it's in your area, you should see it. Definitely worth the time. It inspired me to Love more deeply.

Thanks for the good movie tip. It is our greatest entertainment challenge these days to find a clean movie that is actually good to watch.

On the politics topic, I decided 6 weeks ago that I would abstain from politics (except for proposition 8). I don't read political stories, etc. It's been amazing to see the difference in our home. There is more peace. We are happier. Then I realized that the news media does not want homes to be peaceful. They get business by getting people all stirred up about things. It's not good for our homes. It's sad, but some businesses care more about making money than about doing what's best for families.

I've been convinced that the most divisive topic in our country is politics. Can't wait until this is all over!; October 28, 2008 at 2:49 PM

Juanita's Conversion Story

I feel that Heavenly Father has blessed me with the desire to play softball. The fact that the Lord was guiding me to play softball became more evident to me when I was offered a scholarship to play ball at BYU-Hawaii. The thought of attending BYU-Hawaii just seemed right and good at the time so I attended college there. My first year in college I was so excited to learn, play, and party. I discovered real soon that the students who attended the university had fun without drinking. I also discovered that the people were faithful and they had a strong sense of purpose and Identity. This compelled me to go on a spiritual search. I decided to take the lessons from the missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As I took the lessons I was taught things that I heard before and things that were new to me. Such as the Book of Mormon and the prophet Joseph Smith. These were things that were a challenge for me to believe. So I took these challenges up to the Lord and I asked him if the Book of Mormon is the word of God and if Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I'm so delighted to share with you that I do know that the Book of Mormon is true and that the Prophet Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I know that it's true because of the power of the Holy Spirit, because of these truths and much more I decided to be baptized and serve the Lord. Getting baptized was the best decision I ever made. It's because of this choice that I enjoy the blessing of life today. The church is true and I find myself indebt to the Lord forever.
