My little Monkey

This is Raeywen & Eve. Raeywen is Fiona Leung's baby girl. Fiona was my missionary companion in D.C. Fiona & I gave birth about a week apart. It was so nice to have some one at the exact same stage as me. They are so cute together. When we put them together they automatically held hands.
We went to Kawela bay the other day, Gorgeous! I even saw a few honu's (sea turtle in Hawaiian) in the water.

There were some cool Banyon trees, we had to take pictures. Doesn't she look like a cute monkey?

Don't we look identical? Who am I kidding, she shouts Mark all over. Except maybe for the luscious lips, I'm going to take credit on that one.

Eve has been on a drooling and sucking fingers trip. As gross as it is sometimes she looks so cute doing it.

She's trying so hard to crawl. This girl has so much energy and she expresses it in many different ways such as punching, kicking, head banging, screaming and an amateur crawl. We love her. This morning she woke me up at 5 for a feeding, I was so tired. Strange thing i couldn't go back to bed because she wanted to play, aaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Since I was up I decided to go swimming at the pool at BYU. I'm so glad I went even though it was so dang early. I saw the affects of the sunrise creeping up in the sky. It was orangey yellowish beautiful! It looked so cool behind the palm trees. I even seen a double rainbow. I was so happy that I got my but out of bed, other wise i would have missed all that beauty.

A CRAZY Day at the beach

Mark & I try to go to the beach at least once a week. So we can show gratitude that we live in Hawaii. This time around, I've have got to say was the most beautiful. Nooooo not beautiful, interesting, hmmmmm getting closer, CRAZY! Yah, that's it.
When we first got there we did our usual set up, underneath a tree so Eve wont get burnt from the sun. Mommy chilling on the lawn chair watching the ocean and baby, and Mark either reading or working out for his health class. Because it was a bit windy like the beginning of a hurricane Mark decided to run on the beach towards Malekahana so he wouldn't freeze his bum off. On his way back from running Mark said "Hey, Juanita lets go take pictures near the Hawaiian monk seal". While on his run he saw this seal chilling on the beach. He knew I was hoping that we would get another opportunity like this because the last two times when we seen monk seals on the beach, I didn't have my camera and I was so bummed out. I didn't even have my camera all those times when I saw the sea turtles, whales or dolphins either. I'm not talking about seeing these creatures at some public marine park either. All of them were randomly seen on the North Shore. Not to make anyone jealous or anything. I mean, I understand if you would be, being in the bitter cold and all. I know I'll be, when we go back to the mainland in a few months. Anyhow, back to the story. When we approached the seal, I was going crazy with my camera. I guess because I finally had my camera when I seen something so beautiful. I loved watching it sleep, it looked so peaceful. I hope you can see the little crab that tried to get in the picture to. Mark on the other hand he kept making noise so the seal could wake up and smile for the camera. Poor seal. The whole time we were about 10 feet or more from the seal because we didn't want to bother it nor did we want to get our heads bit off. Look how cautious I look compared to Mark. Anyhow, as we are staring at mother nature trying to take it all in before we leave such a beautiful site, this older woman in her early 40's shows up. She placed all her random things on the sand next to us. I immediately thought "ah, this cute hippy lady wants to bond with mother nature to". This is the part where I wished I got this on camera. Remember how I told you that we kept our distance from the seal? Well this lady wanted to be one with mother nature, unfortunately the seal didn't feel the same way. She walked right up to the seal with confidence and started petting it near it's head. The seal then barked and tried to bite her. Once she realized that it was unsafe to be that close to a seal she backed off with embarrassment, and started swearing at me. I couldn't make out all that she said because it was so windy, but she just stared at me in such a evil way and just started cussing out a storm. Obviously, I felt uncomfortable and suggested to Mark that we better take off. To be honest I was really scared. I just had such a bad feeling about that woman, that she could have done something harmful. As we walked about 200 feet away (looking back occasionally to make sure she didn't rush us from behind) I discovered that we left our slippers right next to the woman. Mark was BRAVE, he ran back to go get our slippers. The whole time I was praying that nothing would happen. My mind was racing of all the bad things that could happen. I forgot to mention that as we walked away a huge group of teenagers approached the site of the seal to get a sneak peak as well. From a distance I could see that Mark was okay, it seemed as if she had Said something to him. As Mark was on his way back I could see that the lady must has said something to the group of teenagers, because all of a sudden the whole group stood up and left the site. When Mark came back I asked him if she said any thing to him. Mark told me She was muttering stuff under her breath and so Mark said "I'm sorry, What did you say?" The lady said, "What made you think i was talking to you?" Mark responded, Oh, I just thought you were!" Then she grumbled, "Americans! Your so insistent with your ignorance!" I told her to have a nice day left with our sandals. Well there you have it, our crazy day at the beach.

On a more positive note, Eve is loving reading time. It seems to relax her at times. Here is Mark being an awesome daddy! I love the way he is with her.

I Did It!

Yesterday I finished The Book Of Mormon again. This time around it took me a little longer than usual because I kept skipping around to my favorite chapters or verses when i should have kept reading straight through. Now that ive finished it, i dont have to read it again for another few years. :) I'm just joking. This past time when I read it, I read it with the question in my mind "how can I be a better wife and mother" This time around I'm not sure. I don't know how I want to study it this time. I'm not saying I mastered the previous attempt, I just want to try something different. So if any of you have some ideas, please share them with me! In fact if you read this post can you share with me what works for you? I would greatly appreciate it!:) I love The Book Of Mormon and God knows I need to read it daily in order to have the Holy spirit in my life. With out reading it i'm just a grumpy, cranky girl that no one wants to be around. Reading the Book of Mormon helps me to be a little bit more kind and loving to my family as well as my friends. I encourage everyone in the whole universe to read and ponder the words located in The Book Of Mormon. I love you all!
