Partake of Fruit

1 Nephi 8:12 "And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit". This is one of my favorite scriptures in holy writ! The first time I read this I got so emotional. Only God could place words to express EXACTLY how I felt that day. For those of you who don't know this weekend Oct. 2nd & 3rd there will be a conference broad cast on television for your convenience at which the Prophet and Apostles will speak. They will speak the mind and will of the Lord. Be prepared with your notebook & pen. If you have been desiring to draw closer to God, follow their counsel and I guarantee you WILL be closer to Him. For more info. about the broadcast click here http://lds.org/broadcast/gc/1,5161,9199,00.html
This is how Eve picks fruit

Esther on the other hand was a little afraid of the dogs next door. She clings on to me for protection. Little does she know, that mommy is afraid of dogs as well. But they were behind the fence so I had a bit more confidence. After a while she joined in and picked some Pears. This girl LOVES Pears. Especially the soft ones on the ground:)

Checking to make sure the dogs won't get her. Man, I love this girl!

What an exciting weekend coming up. General Conference, Nancy arrives & hopefully my little princess will arrive as well. Another General conference baby! Live, smile, laugh & laugh some more. Have a blessed weekend and you're more then welcome to pray for our family.

Highlights

This past Saturday was The General Relief Society Meeting. It was POWERFUL! I was so looking forward to it all week. I need this stuff! I need to be reminded to SEE with SPIRITUAL eyes and not carnal ones. Each speaker mentioned something that I sooooooooooooo needed to hear. For instance Sister Beck mention the scripture in 3 Nephi 13: 1-4, the essence of that scripture is to GIVE IN SECRET, not announcing it with a trumpet, not even your left hand knows what your right hand doeth, but if you do it in SECRET God will reward thee openly. I'll be honest this is really hard as a mother. I know Mark tries hard to notice the little things and tries to say thank you as much as he can but he is a man and physiologically designed differently then a woman, so naturally he doesn't notice everything that's done. Children as well. Most of the time it's fine I just deal with it, but on those hard days when it's just so hard to serve because of the degree of difficulty whether it's back pain, lack of sleep or just plain worn out a simple PASSIONATE appreciation would be nice with out me having to ask for it. Hearing her mention this scripture did a little zing on my heart. I really need to confide in the Lord on those days that it's hard and only please him and not seek the praise of my family. If I do that I would be a more joyful soul. That was just one thing that rang true to me. And that's just another reason why mother's are so special. If you're actually reading this, I just want to say to you "You are awesome for serving because you know that's the right thing to do. You know that's what brings pure joy and love into your heart. You are becoming more like the Savior each day as you serve. He loves you for it. Keep up the good work". The other sisters mentioned many things that I want to change my way of thinking but I rather not mention because there to personal. Our prophet, President Monson, Wow! I have no words to replicate the sincere, simple, loving, POWERFUL message that he shared. If you missed it you're in luck you can view the whole session online NOW! Just wait for a moment in your day when you really have time to soak it in. You can view & read the highlights here as well as the entire conference. Enjoy! http://new.lds.org/pages/general-rs-meeting-sept-2010?lang=eng
